Program Description
The Crisis Stabilization Unit provides emergency and acute care services for individuals experiencing a primary mental health crisis. The Unit provides the evaluation, diagnosis and stabilization of mental illness symptoms. This is accomplished by providing a protective environment, medication, counseling and discharge planning with the individuals family and social support system.
Co-occurring (mental illness and substance abuse) disorders are evaluated and treatment is provided as necessary.
Services are available to all adult residents of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties. Individuals are accepted in compliance with State of Florida and Department of Children and Families? regulations.
Crisis Stabilization Unit is a 30 bed adult unit located at 4500 W. Midway Road in Fort Pierce and it is open 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
