Program Description

The purpose of the Housing Authority is to preserve and increase available safe and sanitary housing to low and moderate income persons within Indian River County. The Authority is responsible for providing and monitoring rental assistance under the HUD Section 8 Program to eligible low/very-low income families, elderly, disabled persons and single pregnant women.

A portion of grant funding through the Florida Department of Community Affairs is being used to acquire newer foreclosed homes, which are currently bank owned.

After being acquired and fully renovated, the homes will be sold to qualified households.

The homes are located in established neighborhoods within Indian River County.
