Program Description

ELC of Indian River, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties provides resources and referrals to all families looking for child care programs including School-Age, Head Start, Summer Camps, and Au-Pair agencies. In addition, ELC offers the free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Program (VPK) to every 4 year old child, and provides financial assistance through subsidies to eligible working families. ELC also supports and assists potential and existing providers with free training and technical assistance to provide quality child care. ELIGIBILITY: Working families whose income does not exceed 150% of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible for Child Care Subsidy dollars.

Child Care Resource and Referral services are free for all parents, providers, and community members without restriction.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Working families whose income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible for Child Care Subsidy dollars. Child Care Resource and Referral services are free for all parents, providers, and community members without restriction. Intake procedure for Child Care Subsidy and School Readiness is by phone, walk-ins are welcome - income not required. VPK appointments are suggested - income not required (child's birth certificate and Florida residency required). School Readiness appointments only - income must be below 150 % of the federal poverty guideline (verification of income, residency and birth required). Seen by appointment or walk in.
